What's Ahead?
Now you have an overview of the basic approach to this course. In Lesson Two, we'll continue our discussions on training and development within a strategic perspective. We will also try to make the concepts come alive by beginning to associate strategic training and development with your specific work setting.

It will be important for you to have actual materials relevant to your work (as noted at the end of the assignment on the last page of this lesson). You will be using these in Lessons Three through Ten, and improving on them whenever necessary.

Beginning in Lesson Three, you will be expected to have your initial draft of a proposed training program that will help your organization meet the demands of an ever-changing environment. There is no right or wrong at this stage. What is important is to have something to work on, and improve on if need be.

The major assignment for this course, which will contain all the improvements you have done on your initial draft of the training program, and which I will respond to and grade, will be due at Lesson Eleven. Your classmates' papers will also be available to you to read, and Lesson Twelve will be devoted to your reactions to their papers.

» I hope we will all learn from our experience together.
